SPIRIT OF CASTLEMORTON EP

Label : ORGAN GRINDER

A HARD DUBBING 3 TRACK EP FROM KEITH TENNISWOOD (CO-CONSPIRITOR OF THE TWO LONE SWORDSMEN PROJECT).

HAVING ATTENDED THE HISTORIC GATHERING (CASTLEMORTON: THE LAST TRUE FREE FESTIVAL IN GOOD OLD UK DECAY) WE FOUND THESE MIXES CAPTURE THE SPIRIT OF THE TIMES I.E HARD-DRIVING BASS TURBULENCE AND ACID FLANGED F.X. WITH A TAKE-NO-SHIT ATTITUDE. THIS IS A GREAT ONE FOR EITHER CLOSING THE NIGHT WITH, OR SCARING THE SHIT OUT OF THE NEXT D.J. WHEN EVER YOU CHOOSE TO PLAY IT,'SPIRIT OF CASTLEMORTON' WILL ALWAYS LASH UP THE AUDIENCE INTO A FROTHING FRENZY, BUT BEWARE 'CAUSE THERE AIN'T MUCH YOU CAN FOLLOW IT WITH' EXCEPT THE ODD LULLABY (THERE YOU GO, WE'RE GIVING THE GAME AWAY NOW).

SIDE B HAS 'REINCARNATED' DEEP-AND-FUNKY HIP-HOP BEATZ. THIS IS PETER CUSHING MEETS JACK DANGERS IN A DARK DANK SUBWAY SOMEWHERE IN A DIRTY ANALOGUESPHERE.

THE LAST TRACK 'HAMMER AND TONGUES' HAS A TOP END TWEAKED TO SHRILL TONES. THIS ONE SLITHERS OUT OF THE SPEAKERS LIKE A COCKROACH OUT OF A SOYA MILK CARTON. (AND IT'S WORTH REMEMBERING THAT COCKROACHES ARE TRUE SURVIVORS.) IN SHORT FOR DANCE-FLOOR FRENZY THIS IS AS FINE A SLAB OF PLASTIC THAT YOU'RE EVER LIKELY TO LAY YOUR HANDS ON. THAT IS IF YOU CAN FIND A COPY.
GOOD LUCK.
